The Safe Cover, an FRP mat manufactured by Oxford Plastic Systems, was jointly developed with National Grid, a major UK power and gas company (British Gas). This product is lighter than steel plates, can be easily carried by two people, and does not require heavy machinery. Compared to work using steel plates, it allows for reductions in construction time and costs. It offers new applications as a mat for private roads and temporary setups.
